Chris Brown performed at The Grammys, had a good year selling records, has a bunch of Top 10 hits, etc. Chris Brown also did this.

I don’t plan on turning this into another Chris Brown criticism, because I think everyone knows that most decent people are still upset with him and have covered it extensively.

What I really want to talk about is how mad I am at everyone else. And, here is why:

• Roman Polanski
• Mel Gibson
• Mike Tyson (1, 2)
• Michael Fassbender
• Ben Roethlisberger (1, 2)
• Floyd Mayweather
• Kobe Bryant
• Alec Baldwin (Verbal abuse and emotional abuse are still forms of domestic abuse. While not physically harmful, the emotional scars from verbal abuse can really fuck a person up.)

By all means, please add more to this list. I’m sure I’m leaving some out. 

Look at what we let them get away with. Look what we are so quick to forget because of their “talent”, their art, their championships, and their names. Look at these people who don’t even meet the minimum requirements of human decency and still get paid millions of dollars and will likely never be out of a job or money for the rest of their lives. FUCKING LOOK AT THIS SHIT. 

We have police reports and phone conversations and testimony and fucking photographic evidence for all of this. What more is it going to take for us to actually do something about it? When will we get to a point where people will want to hit these jerks (good lord, no pun intended at all) where it hurts- their sources of income? When will we stop giving them all of this positive attention — seeing their movies, reading their tweets, keeping them on our sports teams, wearing their fucking memorabilia, dancing to their music, AWARDING them with ANYTHING — and see them for what they are? 

This makes me sick. All of us make me sick.
