It is disgusting. I will not sugar coat my views of this because it is damaging and completely wrong. There is nothing positive about it. Polygamy is rooted in highly fucked up religious attitudes about the subservience of women to men. It reinforces that idea that women are only on earth as carrier of children for men and to serve men. People who participate in it are completely brainwashed. Marriage and strict gender role are enforced. The darker side is cults, pedophilia, and child brides. The very system of polygamy and participation in supports these terrible and morally wrong ideas.

Now however I do believe in polyamory , it’s roots are not in oppression. Polyamory for those who are not familiar is the “practice, desire, or acceptance of having more than one intimate relationship at a time with the knowledge and consent of everyone involved.” Which I am all about and support.
